Brontë Poiré-prest

Interprète

Originally from Tio'tià:ke / Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Brontë Poiré-Prest began her classical dance training in 2010 at Ballet Divertimento. She continued her studies at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM) from which she graduated in 2017.

Upon leaving school, Brontë was invited to work with several renowned companies such as Le Carré des Lombes by Danièle Desnoyers, Van Grimde Corps Secrets by Isabelle Van Grimde and obtained the title of freelancer for the Compagnie Marie Chouinard by Marie Chouinard. The following year she was selected to collaborate in the 2018 edition of the EDCM Fly creation laboratory as a performer for CAVEAT creation by Parts+Labour_Danse and she joined the RUBBERBANDance Group.

Passionate about art, she had the opportunity to flourish on stage and in front of the camera by working on multiple multidisciplinary projects by Quebec artists such as Kroy, Koriass, Foxtrott and Socalled.

Creation and the stage are the places where she feels herself growing and evolving as a performer and a human being. In addition, the creative experiences she has had with multiple choreographers and dancers have allowed her to broaden her field of knowledge and the essence of her inspirations. Partner work, floor work and different physical states are three of the many facets of dance that make the performer vibrate. She wishes to participate in the cultural identity of her city, her province and her country through bodily dialogue. Her primary language is movement and it is through this that she seeks to ignite discussion and awaken emotions.
