Audrey Sargent

Coming from a literature background, Audrey Sargent (she) is a performer in contemporary dance and whacking. She is part of Asymmetry Creations (Axelle Munezero) and joined the 6th and 7th cohorts of BIG BANG, an intensive contemporary dance program directed by Stéphanie Decourteille (2020-2021). Her solo Entraves and the group piece Seul.e.s ensemble: club edition, created with Asymmetry, are performed at the Montreal Fringe Festival (2021). Comptines, co-created with Acollectif, toured in Bas-St-Laurent during summer 2021. In her research, she takes interest in freestyle, sorority and collective knowledges, and tries to create a dialogue between dance and the collection of wild plants. Audrey co-founded with Laura Borello-Bellemare très bonne idée, a collective aiming to create spaces for informal dance gatherings and performance events for Montreal’s emerging artists scene.
