Maria Marsli

Maria Marsli is a Montreal-based artist of Irish and Moroccan descent, born in the United Kingdom. She studied Design and Fine Arts at l’École des Beaux-Arts de Marseille in France. Maria’s passion for dance began at the age of 13 when she started with Hip Hop, which led to a professional career spanning diverse styles, including salsa, belly dance, Brazilian zouk, waacking, tango, and contemporary dance. She is currently a student in the contemporary dance program at Concordia University, further honing her craft.

Maria’s first acting experience was in a musical performed in front of the Moroccan Royal Family, a prestigious debut on an extraordinary stage. She is also part of the all-female performance collective Uptown Crew, which won the 2019 Frankie Fringe Award for "Most Promising Local French Company" for their play Le Venin de Jocaste.

Maria’s stage presence has also shone at major events, including opening for Jennifer Lopez’s performance in Morocco and at the 2018 Canada Salsa Congress. Her versatility has brought her to the screen in music videos, commercials, and dance films.

In 2020, Maria worked alongside Sophie El Assaad as both a dancer and actor in Black Balloon (Portico Edition 2020, produced by The Theatre Centre) and Moonlight Bloom, a short dance film featured in international festivals.

With her rich cultural heritage and artistic versatility, Maria Marsli bridges diverse traditions to create performances that are both innovative and deeply emotive. Her dedication to her craft continues to captivate audiences and push creative boundaries.
