Born, living, working and creating in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal, Liam Gover (he/him) is an artist, movement researcher, choreographer, and experiencer of contexts. His work and research explore the relational, ephemeral, experimental and phenomenological ways of being in relation to bodies, objects and the self within a somatic framework. He is also interested in expanded choreographic ways of doing with a focus on de-centring formality and roles in collaborative processes. Currently, he is busy with researching how to dismantle the role of the dramaturge within the landscape of his creative process, promoting a horizontal model of deep listening and collaboration. He is a graduate of the Department of Contemporary Dance at Concordia University and also holds a degree in Media Arts. Liam has performed, presented his work, attended workshops and professional development events in and around Montreal, including Studio 303 and Concordia. He also sometimes engages in a teaching practice where he can be in dialogue, propose ideas and share his perspective of movement and practice with others.
