Giverny Welsch

Chorégraphe, Interprète

Since graduating from the bachelor's degree in dance at UQAM in 2018, giverny has been developing ecofeminist performative dance projects. Therefore, she digs into a singularly sensual practice in correspondence with the aquatic environment. In addition, she expands her creative methods for a unique choreographic voice, through drawing, textiles confections, photography and audiovisual processing.

As an artistic entrepreneur, giverny welsch is slowly and subtlety involved in the design of cultural mediation projects. Therefore, she develops initiatives to raise awareness of the waters worlds, using performance art, dance for immersive experiences. Her projects are now presented under the aegis of sujet espaces-temps, an NPO dedicated to training in an embodied relationship to the different bodies of water. She combines three converging practices from somatic-inspired practice, dance to experimental video.

Seeking to consolidate her artistic approach, giverny welsch is pursuing a master's degree in dance, under the direction of Caroline Laurin-Beaucage. Obsessed by the object of her skin, she is searching for her own particular aesthetic, her own peau-ethic; as she perceives her skin like the psychic manuscript enabling her to better elucidate her work ethics.

She currently works with the Laborare collective, Compagnie Optixx, Human Playground, as  performer/creator/co-choreographer/collaborator.
