Giverny Welsch

Chorégraphe, Interprète

Since completing her bachelor's degree in dance at UQAM in 2018, giverny has been implementing ecofeminist performances, excavating a sensual practice in correspondence with fluid environments.  Through drawings and audiovisual materials, she expands her performative voice for a more mediated approach.

As an artistic entrepreneur, giverny welsch is involved in the design of cultural mediation projects. She develops initiatives aimed at raising awareness of aquatic worlds, using the art of movement for immersive, empathic experiences. In this way, she weaves a practice of self-encounter in correspondence with different sensual and aqueous environments, such as oceans and lakes. Today, her projects are presented under the aegis of sujet espaces-temps, an NPO, where she combines three converging practices: somatic practice, dance and experimental underwater video.

Seeking to better understand how her artistic approach moves and is moved by the concept and neologism peau-éthique (skin-ethics), giverny welsch is a candidate for a master's degree in dance, in research-creation, under the directions of Caroline Laurin-Beaucage and Catherine Lavoie-Marcus.

Upstream, she has created and performed with Human Playground (2025), Compagnie Optixx (2024), the Laborare collective (2023), Compagnie de danse Sursaut (2022-21), Bodiography Contemporary Ballet (2019).
