Camille Gendron
Interprète, Répétiteur / directeur des répétitions, Dramaturge
Camille Gendron, a contemporary dance artist based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal, navigates between performing, directing rehearsals and, more recently, a blossoming dramaturgical practice.
A sensitive soul with a playful spirit who goes nowhere without their scribbled notebook, Camille delves into their body as one tends a garden: with diligence, depth and wonder. Their creative embers ignite on contact with work calling for great physicality, and are stirred by the playfield of a given ecosystem, whether scenographic or natural.
With a B.A. in dance from UQÀM, Camille worked on stage in Rhodnie Désir's latest creation, Symphonie de coeurs, and continues to work – under many hats – alongside emerging choreographers such as Rozenn Lecomte, Mara Dupas and Melina Pires. In 2024, these collaborations took them to the stages of the NAC (Ottawa) and the LAC (Lugano), as well as digging into body, mind and books during residencies at La Fabrik (Potsdam) and La Bellone (Brussels).
It's with a desire for frank, assertive human connections that Camille chooses the performing arts, perceiving them as a generator of intangible links that transcend our individualism and push back the boundaries of our intimacy.
