ABOUT THE ENTITY

Willow could be described as two modern rhapsodes of body and space—multidisciplinary creators dedicated to revealing the intimate relationship between self and movement. Through unique experiences in their workshops, performances, and collaborations, Willow invites connection with others through immersive universes.

What resonates as a foundation for us (William-Nicolas and Laura) is the integration of humanity into each of our works, drawing from the raw moments of daily life, the ordinary, or the extraordinary.

We particularly use partnership practice as an entry point into this exploration and discovery; to us, this interactional link reflects our identity, like a mirror of the soul. Thus, this duet work is a pillar of research and a driver of inspiration and creation.

OFFERING

A 2-hour class designed for professional or aspiring professional dancers; the session includes theory, experimentation, and reinforcement of acquired skills through a short choreographic sequence (optional solo or duo).

Workshops for “All Levels” and “Intermediate/Advanced” levels are also available on Saturday, November 23 (see flyer for details).

OBJECTIVES

  • Introduction to our philosophy of partnered movement through an intuitive approach
  • Develop a body language for communication
  • Strengthen the relationship with oneself and with others
  • Build Willow tools and body understanding in a duet lexicon (optional)
  • Aim to develop diverse skills as a performer and/or choreographer, fostering marked growth toward self-directed learning and a lasting connection to artistry.
