The Yarns of Life is a celebration of the beauty, fragility and resilience of the human spirit.

The audience is drawn into a tactile universe. Stories of love, loss, joy and struggle are brought to life through dance, knitting and the captivating, narrative songs performed by Brian Gallagher.

Jessica Cumberbirch has hand-knitted every garment used in the show. The dance patterns are guided by the movement of the yarn, slipping, winding, turning, untangling and recreating. Creating a physical and emotional tapestry channeled through Jessica’s unique language combining ballet (pointe work), contemporary dance and martial arts.

Each character lives their own unique truth as they explore what it means to be part of the collective.
