Seeking for Director of Marketing and Communications

Full time, 35 hours per week

Théâtre Desjardins is a fast-growing non-profit organization. A major presenter located in the southwest of Montreal, it offers a multidisciplinary program of nearly 200 shows annually, in addition to various private events.

With several exciting projects on the horizon, the organization is looking for a Director – Marketing and Communications. Reporting to the General and Artistic Director, the Director – Marketing and Communications is primarily responsible for creating, supervising and executing innovative marketing strategies for Theatre activities and sales. The incumbent knows how to mobilize, nurture and grow the Theatre’s communities by promoting its activities. Finally, he/she embodies the Theatre’s value of citizenship by representing it at various business and community events in the Greater Montreal Southwest and by forging strong partnerships.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

Marketing and communications

  • Coordinate and oversee the Theatre’s communications, marketing and branding activities.
  • Create tools and strategies to market the Theatre’s activities and reach new audiences
  • Develop the community of Théâtre Desjardins’ various platforms and maintain their commitment.
  • Define performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of social media and prepare reports.
  • Produce and distribute Théâtre Desjardins newsletters.
  • Monitor budgets in conjunction with supervisor.
  • Draw up a complete report on website traffic and produce statistics.
  • Organize the Theatre’s season launches and commercial activities.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

    Human resources management

  • Lead team coordination meetings.
  • Supervise and support the Communications and Marketing team.
  • Supervise and support the Box Office team.
  • Hire, train and coach employees under his/her responsibility.
  • Act as an open, inclusive and mobilizing manager.

Development and partnerships

  • Collaborate with the General and Artistic Directors in the development of the annual individual and corporate giving strategy, and actively participate in its implementation.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of means and tools for soliciting and communicating with individual and corporate donors.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement donor engagement, cultivation and recognition strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within existing relationships.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and negotiated visibility conditions.
  • Participate in budget analysis related to its area of activity.
  • Ensure follow-up and compliance with agreements with partners and donors.
  • Forge links with local and community organizations in the Greater Southwest.
  • Represent Théâtre Desjardins at various business events in the Greater Sud-Ouest and Montreal.
  • Coordinate commercial activities at Carrefour Angrignon.
  • Perform all other related tasks.
  • EDUCATION :

    Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing.
    7+ years’ experience in marketing or communications.
    Experience in the cultural field an asset.
