Creation Residency at Le Gesù – Centre de créativité.

Le Gesù – Centre de créativité is seeking performing artists (music, theater, dance, song, storytelling, slam, etc.) for a creation residency in winter 2025!

Selected artists will have free access to the Espace Custeau at Le Gesù – Centre de créativité for a dry residency.
They will be hosted for one to two weeks between February and May 2025.

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Artistic approach interest and relevance to the proposed project;
• Feasibility of the project in the available space, alignment with space availability, and professionalism;
• We will prioritize projects that promote inclusion, equity, and diversity.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

SUBMIT A SINGLE PDF DOCUMENT OF A MAXIMUM OF 10 PAGES, INCLUDING:

• A description of the artistic approach and the project (maximum 500 words);
• A letter of intent describing the objectives for the residency, including availability periods (maximum 300 words);
• A short biography of the artists collaborating on the project, if applicable;
• A general overview of completed works (images and/or website and/or other video or audio links);
• A curriculum vitae of the project lead (including full contact details: legal name of the artist (or collective), address of residence or practice, phone number, email, website, or Instagram or Facebook account, GST and QST numbers if applicable).

SELECTED ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING FREE OF CHARGE:

• Access to Espace Custeau from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM;
• A residency lasting 5 to 10 days, depending on the project’s needs;
• The possibility to leave materials on-site for the duration of the residency;
• Publicity on Le Gesù’s website and its various social media platforms.

Additional Information:

• This is a residency without technical support, for exclusive use of the space (room layout);
• The residency must take place between February and May 2025;
• Artists must submit and adhere to a rehearsal schedule;
• Selected artists do not receive any fees from Le Gesù – Centre de créativité. If applicable, they must cover all project-related expenses (fees, transport, per diems, materials, etc.);
• In return, artists benefiting from a creation residency at Le Gesù – Centre de créativité commit to mentioning it in their promotional tools for the project and across their various platforms.
