Coordinator, Festival and Special Projects

Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time (35 hours/week)

Petits bonheurs is dedicated to making art accessible to young children aged 0 to 6. Our spring festival features around thirty performances and artistic workshops from Quebec, Canada, and internationally, covering a wide range of artistic disciplines.

As a coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the festival by overseeing logistics and production activities. Under the direction of the General and Artistic Director, you will be at the heart of the festival’s coordination, working closely with various partners, artists, and team members.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the General Director, particularly in production, programming, and administration;
  • Prepare contracts and ensure necessary follow-ups;
  • Serve as the liaison between the team, artists, distribution partners, and performance venues;
  • Prepare essential documents for smooth operations, such as timelines and follow-up documents;
  • Conduct supplier research, request quotes, and make reservations;
  • Manage set-ups and tear-downs in collaboration with the technical teams;
  • Participate in production and coordination meetings;
  • Support coordination and welcoming of companies and artists coming from outside Montreal (regions, Canada, and international);
  • Manage the festival’s material resources;
  • Coordinate the setup and installation of festival sites;
  • Plan and participate in the festival’s daily activities;
  • Collaborate with the team and various stakeholders to ensure the event runs smoothly;
  • Write a post-mortem report at the end of the event;
  • Perform other related tasks.

Profile:

  • At least 2 years of experience in coordinating or producing cultural, artistic, or community events;
  • Strong interest in the arts and working with children;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Team player with effective communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of computer tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Monday);
  • Availability to work occasionally in the evenings and weekends during the event.

Terms of Employment

  • Salary: $24/h – $27/h, depending on experience
