Call for Participation: Dance and Performance Artists in Quebec!

We are seeking artists for a research project: As part of the project “Eco-somatic Practices in Dance and Performance in Quebec,” led by Johanna Bienaise (SSHRC, UQAM), we are currently creating the EC(h)OS DES MILIEUX directory, which brings together dance and performance artists working in Quebec who address ecological themes/questions in their work.

This call is for you if:

• You are working in Quebec as a professional artist.
• You address ecological themes/questions in your work, such as: somatic attentionality and relationships to environments; relationships with living beings (both human and non-human, such as plants, animals, minerals, etc.); Indigenous cosmogonies, body knowledge and relationships to territory; political and social issues of the climate change crisis; or other themes that place ecology at the heart of your practice.

Nature of participation :

• You will then be invited to complete a short form to present your artistic approach, provide photos of your artistic work, and submit one short video. (If needed, we will arrange a brief meeting with you).
• You will also agree to be included in the EC(h)OS DES MILIEUX directory.
• Financial compensation: 150 CAD
