Accounting Technician

With several exciting projects on the horizon, the organization is looking for a friendly and motivated individual to join its administrative team as an Accounting Technician. Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, the successful candidate will oversee the full accounting cycle, payroll, and other responsibilities under their purview.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter invoices into the system and process payments
  • Prepare client invoices, manage follow-ups, collections, and payments
  • Handle cash management, including deposits and change orders
  • Record journal entries and maintain bookkeeping records
  • Prepare and file quarterly sales tax returns
  • Compile and document year-end files for external auditors
  • Maintain the accounting database and organize financial records
  • Demonstrate experience managing the full payroll cycle
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, work with precision and autonomy
  • Take initiative and adapt in a constantly evolving environment
  • Process biweekly employee payroll and issue Records of Employment
  • Ensure effective communication within the scope of responsibilities
  • Perform any additional tasks required to support the Theatre’s activities

EDUCATION: Completed AEC or DEC in Accounting

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with Sage 50 software
  • Knowledge of the Employer D platform
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French
