Explore the dynamic relationship between our own space—our body—and the external environment in a workshop designed to deepen your artistic presence and expressiveness. This workshop provides tools for performers to consciously engage with both inner and outer spaces, transforming movement into dance and presence into realization.

In a safe, supportive environment, participants will develop enhanced listening skills, tuning into inner sensations to bring forth authentic movement and rhythm that reflect their truest selves. Each session includes physical conditioning to strengthen connection, flexibility, and balance, allowing the body to feel grounded and open to expression. Our goal is for each participant to dive deeply into their creative potential, expanding their range of expression and enhancing their presence on stage.

This workshop is ideal for practitioners in live arts such as dance, theater, performance art, and all disciplines where a profound understanding of time and space can enrich their practice.

About the Teacher:

In 2009, Yesenia Fuentes discovered butoh and has since explored its profound influences on her artistic practice. Since 2014, she has had the privilege of studying with renowned butoh artists Masaki Iwana (RIP) and Moeno Wakatatsumu. Currently, Yesenia continues her active exploration of butoh alongside the artist Marianela Leon Ruiz among other international artists.

Butoh, a unique form of dance-theater originating in Japan, allows the body to express itself freely. It embraces movement without censorship, celebrating transformation and authenticity. Through butoh workshops, participants embark on a journey of self-discovery, creating a space to explore and appreciate the complexity of this pure form of dance.
