Workshop – #3 Wikidata: Wiki Commons
Wikidata is a powerful tool that you can use to heighten your Web visibility and that of dance. This tool lets you optimize your cultural content for search engines using metadata. But what are the tangible advantages of using this tool in the dance sector? Thanks to this platform, you can increase the effectiveness, relevance and visibility of your dance-related search content for the greater public.
The Regroupement québécois de la danse, the Canadian Association for the Performing Arts, LaCogency, and the Conseil québécois du théâtre invite you to a series of eight workshops explaining the basic elements of this platform. The workshops are free of charge.
Target clients:
Artists, cultural workers or managers in dance, getting their first introduction to Wikidata and metadata.
Description Wikidata Workshop 3: Wiki Commons:
Wikimedia Commons is a media repository of free-use images, sounds, other media, and JSON files. It is a project of the Wikimedia foundation. This workshop will guide you publishing free-use images, in direct connection with Wikidata and Wikipedia.
This third workshop is designed for beginners as well as experienced wikimedians and has two sections: a theory introduction followed by a guided practice, which allows participants to experiment with free-use images, sounds, other media and JSON.
CAPACOA, LaCogency, the Conseil québécois du théâtre (CQT) and the Regroupement québécois de la danse (RQD) invite you to 2021-2022 Wikidata workshops series.
The workshop series focuses primarily on the performing arts domain, but most workshop contents are transferable to other domains. All artists, cultural workers and arts enthusiasts are welcome. Registration is required.
