Support for small dance companies: organizational strategies and future visions
A brand new support program aimed at small companies
that want to establish a better structure
and/or an optimal functioning system to support their practice.
Submit your application (Deadline: October 15)
This training consists of a personalized support program in management, strategic planning, and career development. It is aimed at small companies (non-profit organizations) and artist collectives, with or without a small team, who have been practicing for several years. The goal is to equip you with tools for better control over your management practices and workload, in order to sustain your activities, streamline your processes, and/or reduce mental burdens.
This is an opportunity for you to take a step back from your professional activity, engage in a deep reflection on your practices, and devise new organizational strategies that are both consistent with your mission and adapted to the current realities of the dance field.
You will gain personalized knowledge and tools for reflection, analysis, planning, and management to enhance your practices, evaluate your perspectives, and make realistic decisions regarding the challenges posed by your organizational and business development.
By the end of the process, you will have a better understanding of your environment and will navigate it with greater agility. You will gain the keys to surround yourself with people who can help you advance concretely and to find operational modes suited to current societal transformations, your organizational needs, and your human resources. Furthermore, you will be able to make more realistic decisions based on the resources you have and develop better skills in handling change.
Objectives
You will determine the specific objectives of your support project, which will be detailed with the facilitators. However, in general, the program aims to address the following objectives:
- Acquire the missing and necessary tools for the optimal functioning and development of your organization.
- Understand the key principles of sound governance.
- Develop and maintain a strategic vision.
- Value collective intelligence and foster engagement to improve work relationships and ensure an environment that supports the mental well-being of the teams.
- Develop your ability to self-diagnose, map out your processes, evaluate your work organization, and assess your needs, strengths, weaknesses, and prospects.
Service format
The support is offered online, either in an individual format or in a small group of two (2) to three (3) people maximum.
The schedule for your meetings will be determined with the assigned facilitator, but the entire intervention must take place between November 2024, and March 2025. Make sure you have the time and are motivated, as you will need to be available and committed if you participate in the program!
