PurchaseTopical Dance is both an experimental concert and a conceptual dance solo. It uses the setting of public discourse as a possible allegory to represent the act of dancing on stage.
Accompanied live by musician Simone Provencher, Sebastian Kann dances in a space filled with images, sounds, and words, taking us on a sensory journey that awakens our perceptual faculties. How and when does dance come to resemble speech? What is lost, drawn closer, or denied in this process?
The unknown, with its capacity to intrigue and captivate, lies at the heart of Topical Dance, a work where words bend and turn like dancers, while dance shines as an inscription before fading into memory.
