Radical Intimacies Laboratory – Aura Arreola
9:30AM to 12:30PM
Radical Intimacies aims to transcend traditional understandings of intimacy, which have historically been constrained by colonial heteropatriarchy. Instead, it promotes a relational ontology that fosters collective awareness as interdependent beings. Positioned as a micropolitical experience, its potential lies in the attention and trust created among people drawn to the concept of intimacy. The workshop provides a platform to reconsider our relationships with ourselves, others, and the non-human world.
In this workshop, participants will identify four poetics of intimacy:
- embodied word, dialogue, and writing;
- listening, sound, and silence;
- contact, affective touch, and relational dance;
- micropolitics and ecologies of care.
