Through the collaboration of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Goethe-Institut Montreal and fabrik Potsdam – Internationales Zentrum für Tanz und Bewegungskunst, artists Jemima Rose Dean and Lindred have received a residency in the studios of Circuit-Est centre chorégraphique. This residency will allow them to develop further their artistic relationship and explore new avenues of creative collaboration. In counterpart, Québec artists Soraïda Caron and Laïla LeFrançois ware welcomed at the fabrik Potsdam – Internationales Zentrum für Tanz und Bewegungskunst

In the solo-performance work The Feral Womxn, Jemima Rose Dean deconstructs the origins of capitalism and its relationship to womxn’s rights in order to understand how the demonisation of the feral womxn was fundamental to the privatisation of land, control of (work-force) reproduction, colonialism and environmental exploitation. Through the disciplines of contemporary dance, voice and physical theater she proposes a solo performance development in which she explores various embodiments of the feral womxn in order to understand her deeper. The process of making this work gives her the opportunity to question her own social and professional training in being female.
