Okuni, créatrice du kabuki – Komachi Montréal

In the Japan of the samurai, Okuni discovers how art can overcome social burdens and transcend obstacles by giving birth to Kabuki theater. An exceptional woman, she shares her childhood dreams and her unrequited love.

The piece is in a hybrid form, integrating theatrical play, Kabuki movements, traditional dances and songs, music, and video projection.
