KUPKUA

“Every migration involves grief, shaping our perception of the world and our interactions with others.”

After its premiere in June 2022, our creation KUPKUA returns to the stage with a renewed vision. With live music performed by Raiz Viva, a new cast, and reimagined choreography, we aim to breathe new life into this production, which portrays a fundamental experience shared by all who undergo migration.

The drum, a silent traveler from afar, carries the echoes of an ancient grief. Each beat resonates like a whisper of lost lands, a breath that transforms sorrow into rhythm. Upon reaching new horizons, its sound bears the weight of nostalgia but also the promise of renewal. Broken connections find new paths through the vibrations that unite bodies and souls, as if each strike of the drum were a bridge between worlds—an invisible thread where loss becomes creation, and grief turns into dance.
