Evening Class | Erin Flynn — Contemporary Praxis

7:30PM to 9:00PM

Studio 303 - 372, rue Ste Catherine Ouest, Montréal

This class combines somatic, functional, choreographic, and improvised approaches to explore and optimise a broad range of movement potential. Participants are encouraged to adapt the material to their own needs and abilities. The classes will delve into individual and collective exchange and possibilities in dialogue with time, space, flow, and gravity.

WHAT TO BRING

Loose clothing with long sleeves, notebook and pen for writing.

ACCESSIBILITY

Praxis is a bilingual movement class using floor exercises, training sequences, choreographic phrases, collaborative work, structured improvisations, reflective writing, and discussions to broaden physical, social, and artistic capabilities within a secure and nurturing environment.

BIOGRAPHY 

Erin Flynn is an experienced artist with a progressive approach to teaching, creating, and performing contemporary dance in relation to environmental and musical landscapes. She has performed and created works for national and international stages and taught generations of artists at UQAM, Concordia, NTS, and UdeM. Her research incorporates sustainability into the creative process, and melds personal and performative practices.
