Danses Buissonnières

Five young artists take the stage solo to showcase their own creations. Their styles, themes, and approaches to movement couldn’t be more diverse, yet they converge in the clarity of their perspectives, each reflecting a striking sense of self-assertion.

The materiality of light, the fusion of slam poetry and breakdance, the transcendent potential of the spiral, the empowerment of showgirls, and the articulation of a bedside lamp all serve as sources of inspiration, driving their choreographic exploration. These five works were selected from 35 submissions after an audition by a jury composed of artists Alexandre Morin, Karen Fennell, Nasim Lootij, Lucy M. May, and Mukoma-K. “J. Style” Nshinga. The talent of these emerging artists promises a powerful evening!
