Bodies / Images / Objects in Space – Andrew De Lotbinière Harwood

This workshop is a real-time composition lab open to professional artists from all disciplines.

A variety of movement structures will help us focus our attention, develop awareness of inner/outer space, awaken our senses, and tap into our inventiveness. Drawing, photography, installation, creative writing, feedback, participant presentations, and discussions will complement our study.

CONTENT

Each session begins with various somatic practices, some sensory adjustments, and several textural explorations. These serve to create containers for targeted inquiry, encouraging each person to engage in the dynamics of self-care and empathy towards others.

Our time together will be dedicated to enhancing and developing our physical, perceptual, and imaginative abilities. Our exploration will include investigating the inner and innate life of objects, the relationship between various objects in space, and the compositional relationship between bodies, objects, images, and space. This will evolve into the creation of textured, embodied, and living images.
