The École de danse contemporaine de Montréal is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Registrar and Academic Coordinator.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the authority of the Artistic and Academic Director (DAE), the Registrar and Academic Coordinator performs all functions required for the coordination and supervision of activities and resources related to academic progress and student records.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Registrar
– Participates in implementing and supporting the School’s artistic and educational project:
– Schedules, admissions, candidate auditions;
– Student evaluation (send to teacher, compile results, update, liaise with Cégep – ensure compliance with regulations);
– Manages the creation of student files and keeps them up to date;
– Ensures application of policies related to pedagogical organization;
– Enters data for preparation of master schedule and various timetables;
– Ensures and transmits schedules to teaching staff and students;
– Updates weekly class schedules and posts them;
– In collaboration with the DAE, calls for teacher or musician replacements in the event of cancellation or absence;
– In collaboration with DAE, updates guides and policies, prepares and distributes letters and other back-to-school documents (administrative, pedagogical, etc.) to students;
– Compiles statistics and other data related to the School for annual reports and accountability purposes;
– Produces reports and compiles program data for transmission to the Ministère de l’Éducation and Cégep du Vieux Montréal;
– Responds to requests for information from candidates and students at the School, or directs them to the right people.
Auditions
– In collaboration with the DAE and the Coordination of Pedagogical Services, manages and coordinates the entire audition process;
– Manages audition files, intake, registration, course selection, study sanctions, analysis and granting of equivalences;
– Supports candidates throughout the audition process (before, during and after).
Student support
– Collects and compiles student absences and makes this information available to teachers;
– Keeps student health files up to date;
– Acts as a resource person for students and advises them on the steps to follow in their career;
– Follows up students at risk or with special problems;
– In collaboration with the DAE, updates, implements and monitors “success plans”;
– Carry out any other related tasks as requested by management.
Other duties
– In collaboration with the DAE, oversees the operationalization of the Summer School;
– In close collaboration with the Communications Department, revises and continuously updates the content of programs and activities on the various communications platforms.
REQUIRED PROFILE
– Bachelor’s degree in administration or recognized equivalent;
– Five (5) years’ relevant experience in a position with similar responsibilities, preferably in a college environment;
– Fluency in spoken and written French
– Excellent knowledge of English
– Proficiency in Word and Excel
– Knowledge of computerized pedagogical management systems and education networks (SRAM) would be an asset;
– Knowledge of dance or the performing arts would be an asset.

– Replacement maternity leave (+/- 15 months)
