Public Residency Showing – La Poudrière
The company Danse K par K, led by Karine Ledoyen, will be in an open creative residency at the MNBAQ with La Poudrière, a dance fresco exploring humanity through time.
At the heart of the piece, time serves as a key dramaturgical element. Through freeze-frame moments, the choreography seeks to capture fleeting instants while exploring the repetitions and ruptures of history. These moments invite reflection on the recurring cycles of human experience, addressing universal themes such as solidarity and collaboration.
The team aims to create living tableaux, at times evoking the works of great painters. Inspired by the concept of homo confort, the piece questions modern individualism and envisions a utopian society where solidarity and mutual aid take precedence over the pursuit of convenience.
The public is welcome to drop in at any time during the creative residency with the team of 12 artists from February 4 to 6, and to attend a work-in-progress presentation on February 6. Audience feedback will play a key role in refining the project.
