DESCRIPTION
WORKSHOP 1: IN SEARCH OF THE CHARACTER (Through Mask Work)
- What is a mask?
A mask is something that conceals—that is its power. By hiding, the mask acts as a revelator. It sits on the face to enable transformation, creating a dynamic of appearance and disappearance, leading to the very essence of performance. - What will we do together?
We will learn how to disappear and, more importantly, how to reappear through the body and voice of another using the mask as a medium. We will inhabit the “other” through the art of metamorphosis, embodying a character in its raw, primal sense.
WORKSHOP 2: IMPROVISATION
Using improvisation as a starting point, this workshop invites participants to explore the act of performing and to question its foundations. By stripping performance back to its core, we will examine our physical, emotional, and mental tools, discovering what defines presence on stage—presence that is authentic, profound, and fully engaged.
By delving into the essence of creative expression and exploring themes of intimacy, we will expand the boundaries of our craft. Through simple exercises grounded in contemporary realities, we will sharpen our sensitivity, strengthen our resilience, and embrace our vulnerability.
