Winner of the 2022 Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal, choreographer Catherine Gaudet presents a brilliantly orchestrated composition.

Five bodies move to the rhythm of the metronome. Their mechanical movements unfold, the machine heats up, demanding impeccable precision from them. Over time, repetition becomes a disruptive force for the performers, now instrumentalists. It releases the excess steam from their sweat-drenched bodies. Under the pulsating beats, smiles crack, baring teeth, distorting faces. Despite the constraints of Les jolies choses, desires persist. Rebellion emerges.

Having reached the maturity of her artistic language, choreographer Catherine Gaudet embarks on a quest for a space beneath the bodies where desires can be reborn despite the weight of constraint.

The show won the 2023 International Distribution Award at the Prix de la danse de Montréal for its successful European tour.
