Call for participants | Support Program for Small Dance Companies: Organizational Strategies and Future Visions

You are part of a small dance company or collective and wish to establish a better structure and/or optimal functioning to support your practice? This support program is for you!

You have until September 30, 2024, to submit your application.

See the full description of the support program

Requirements

Be part of a small non-profit company or artist collective, either with no team or with a small team, that has several years of practice and wishes to establish a better structure and optimize its organizational functioning.

Important

  • Places are limited. We will select approximately six (6) applications, depending on the number of available hours and the needs expressed by all applicants.
  • Priority will be given to members of the RQD.
  • The support is offered online, either in an individual format or in a small group of two (2) to three (3) people maximum.
  • The schedule for your meetings will be determined with the assigned facilitator, but the entire intervention must take place between October 30, 2024, and February 28, 2025.
  • Ensure that you have the time and are motivated, as you will need to be available and committed if you participate in the program!

How to submit your application

Step 1

Readt the full description of the support program carefully.

Step 2

Prepare your application file (incomplete applications will not be considered) :

  • Complete our registration form.
  • Provide an overview of your organization or collective: structure, governance, number of employees, internal operations, type of support (operating grant or project grant), etc.
  • Provide a text of approximately 500 words describing your needs, difficulties, challenges, and issues facing your organization or collective.
  • Attach your most recent grant application to the CAM, CALQ, or CAC (a mission support or specific programming support application, if possible).

Step 3

Selected candidates for the Program will be invited to sign a tripartite agreement with the chosen facilitator and the RQD. This agreement will require, among other things, that the candidates share their learnings with the community in the form of a testimonial during a ‘co-development’ style panel organized by the RQD, if the RQD is able to do so.

Applications that cannot be admitted to the Program may be submitted to the Coup de Pouce program, depending on the available funds.

Financial contribution

The RQD covers the payment for your facilitator through financial support from Intervention-Compétences, but you are required to pay a contribution of $15 per hour.

This program, offered by the Regroupement québécois de la danse, is made possible with the financial support of the Government of Quebec, through the Intervention-Compétences program administered by Compétence Culture.
