In early September and on Labour Day weekend, the JOAT Festival international de street dance takes Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles by storm for a week of performances and activities for audiences of all ages.

Spearheaded by Handy Yacinthe, a pioneer of today’s popping dance community in Quebec and a prominent figure on the international street dance scene, the festival brings together more than 250 artists who immerse spectators in the world of street dance. The festival program includes high-level battles, breaking, hip hop, popping, krump, beatmakers, youth battles, introductory street dance workshops, master classes, and an exhibition. It’s an opportunity to discover the African-American dances that have become popular all over the world!
