Recognized for its gestural and expressive intensity, this street dance style emerged from poor Los Angeles neighbourhoods in the early 2000s. Through repeating basic movement sequences and improvisation exercises (battle sessions), you will broach krump notions: musicality, character or alter ego, engagement, relationship to space, teamwork, and others.

Dancer and teacher Nindy Banks learned hip hop in from pioneers in Montréal and the United States, as well as krump through the mentorship of Vladimir “7Starr” Laurore. She received a bachelor’s degree in contemporary dance from UQAM in 2015.
With her practices based in freestyle and collaborations with different choreographers, Nindy is particularly interested in exploring dance as a vehicle for emotion and sensation. Ebnflõh (Alexandra “Spicey” Landé) company member, Nindy dances hip hop, krump and contemporary dance in Canada, the United States and Europe.
