Mass rally in support of increased funding for CALQ

On Monday, April 24 at noon, artists, cultural workers and other sympathizers from the arts community will come together in downtown Montreal to request an immediate increase in the budget of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ). The Regroupement québécois de la danse (RQD) urges you to come out in large numbers to support this joint initiative of the seven member organizations of the Mouvement pour les arts et les lettres* and the Conseil québécois du théâtre. A mass turnout is crucial to ensure that the collective voice of Quebec artists is heard loud and clear.

* The Mouvement pour les arts et les lettres currently includes the Conseil québécois de la musique, the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec, the Regroupement québécois de la danse, the Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec, En Piste – le regroupement national des arts du cirque, as well as the two regional arts councils, namely Culture Lanaudière and Culture Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean.
