Recherche et jeu, danser ensemble, en collaboration. Nous partagerons nos pratiques expérimentales dans les bénédictions comme les crises des relations sociales. Par un éventail d’activités nous négocierons entre la fausse guérison et la guérison réelle, le toucher et le non-toucher, les changements intentionnels dans l’incarnation et la perspective, le post/contact, l’unité dans la différence et les objets comme médiums d’échange et d’identité. Répondant aux nouveaux fascismes et à l’effondrement de la cohérence libérale nous utiliserons cet atelier comme un laboratoire politique pour rechercher de nouvelles formes de pratiques-magies-rituels-danses-performances-actions sociales. Nous explorerons les tensions entre la provocation et l’attention tant dans l’activisme que dans l’art. Keith, « Mon premier enseignement/recherche porte sur les dimensions politiques des relations humaines et comment les pratiques de la danse peuvent être des laboratoires pour de nouvelles relations basées sur une étique queer-féministe-anti-raciste-anti-coloniale. J’ai tendance à travailler principalement en duos et trios, en improvisation et avec des expérimentations rituelles.

Keith Hennessy danse à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur de la performance. Né à Sudbury (Ontario), il travaille à San Francisco depuis 1982 et fait ses tournées à l’international. Ses performances impliquent improvisation, rituel, collaboration et action du public comme outils pour questionner des réalités politiques. Ses pratiques s’inspirent de l’anarchisme, la critique de l’identité blanche, la danse post Modern, l’art activiste, la Bay Area, le wicca, le punk, le contact-improvisation et le féminisme queer motive et mobilise son travail. Ses collaborations en 2016-17 incluent Peaches, Meg Stuart, Scott Wells, Jassem Hindi, J Jha, Annie Danger, Gerald Cassel, et les collaboratives Blank Map et Turbulence. Research and play, dancing together, in collaboration. Shared experimental practice in the blessings and crises of social relationships. Through a range of activities we’ll negotiate fake and real healing, touching and not touching, intentional shifts in embodiment and perspective, post/contact, unity-in-difference, and objects as mediums of exchange and identity. Responding to the new fascisms and the collapse of liberal coherence we will use the workshop as a political laboratory to research new forms of social practice-prayer-magic-ritual-dancing-performance-action. We’ll explore the tensions between provocation and care in both activism and art. Keith says, “My primary teaching/research is on the politics of relationship and how dance practices can be a laboratory for new social relations based on queer-feminist-antiracist-decolonial ethics. I tend to work mostly with duet and trio scores, improvisation, and experimental ritual.”

Keith Hennessy dances in and around performance. Born in Sudbury (Ontario), he lives in San Francisco since 1982 and tours internationally.
